The play is set in Brooklyn and revolves around Sarah, a photo journalist who has returned from covering the Iraq war after being injured by a roadside bomb, and her reporter boyfriend James who is besieged with guilt after leaving Sarah alone in Iraq. They receive a visit from their friend Richard, a photo editor, who introduces them to his new girlfriend Mandy. Their burgeoning relationship makes James and Sarah examine their own relationship and way of life. Is it possible for two people who are used to living in dangerous conditions to carve out a normal life? Can they stay together amidst unspoken betrayals and conflicting ideals? What is the role of media in life and death when breaking news unfolds.

Readers Theatre offers a unique theatrical experience – a staged reading in which actors present a play or musical in front of an audience without sets, costumes or other production elements. The actors are not off-book, which means they typically have the script in hand while they perform. It allows the audience to focus on the story and the characters.
