Video Submission deadline – Oct. 11, 2026. This is a youth staged reading. Everyone who performs in the show must be 18 or younger. Recommended for 8+
Performances:

Audition Requirements:
Auditions will be submitted by video: https://airtable.com/appSu9XQKrVlojr14/shrlj9sx8ZnMAR5vN
Please pick no more than 2 characters to submit for. Record a video of yourself reading the side # that corresponds to the character you are wanting to audition for. If possible, have someone off camera read the other characters, if not, pause a beat for them. Once your video is recorded, please fill out the form. There is a place to upload your video or add a URL (YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook, etc).
If you are auditioning for MORGAN – please include a video of you singing “The Holly and the Ivy” (a cappella). There are lyrics on side 15 and here is a link to a recording you can use to learn it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH9vSBrK-OI
If you are auditioning for KEERA/CLARINA/KEEGAN/TIERNEY/GINESSA/REGAN – please include a few bars of Jingle Bells with your audition video. (a cappella)

10/18 11am-2pm at CPT – In person meet up: Get scripts, go over the staged reading concept and do a read thru.
10/22 6pm-8pm – Zoom

12/7 6pm-8pm – Zoom
12/12 3pm-6pm at CPT – in person at the theatre. Quick mic set, then run through on stage, learn any blocking.

Show Synopsis
CPYT Stories Presents a youth staged reading of Hanging of The Greens.
There is a legend that wreaths, swags and garlands must hang on every doorway or window before the arrival of winter. This will protect the home from Pinella the Witch who seeks to steal little children and make them her slaves. But what happens when the children in one home decide to play and dream and shirk their responsibilities? They are ripe to be kidnapped by Pinella!

THE FAMILY
BRIANT, male, adult, a father with a heart as big as the outdoors and a gift of blarney. SIDE 3
ALEENA, female, adult, a mother of seven busy children who has learned to be pragmatic. SIDE 2, SIDE 9, SIDE 10 (choose 2)
KEERA, female, 17, a dreamer. SIDE 5
CLARINA, female, 16, a bit pretentious and self-involved. SIDE 11, SIDE 12
KEEGAN, male, 15, young macho male. SIDE 10, SIDE 13
TIERNEY, male/female, 14, a very middle child in a big family. SIDE 11, SIDE 13
GINESSA, female, 13, a little worker bee. SIDE 11, SIDE 14
REGAN, male/female, 8-11, very active twin of Morgan. SIDE 12

PINELLA, female, adult, the witch of the forest who looks to kidnap children for slaves; Pinella is not a Halloween witch by any means—she can be beautiful, imposing, short and scrappy but she must be wicked—with vinegar coursing through her veins. SIDE 7
