Set in a Dublin tenement during the Irish Civil War, that follows the impoverished Boyle family as they navigate poverty, political strife, and personal betrayal, particularly after a false rumor of an inheritance brings temporary hope that quickly turns to tragedy, culminating in the death of their son and the departure of the resilient matriarch, Juno, from her lazy husband, “Captain” Jack.
