• Thursday, April 2 at 8:00pm ($10 Thursday!)
Saturdays April 11 & 18, 2:00pm


Audition Requirements:

Please prepare 24 bars from an appropriate song. An accompanist will be provided, or if desired bring background tracks on your device. Do not sing something from the show.

Please be prepared to dance.

Readings will consist of sides that will be posted online at www.conejoplayers.org before the audition dates.

Please be ready to read multiple characters.

This is an unpaid, non-Equity production. Adult actors of all races and genders are encouraged to audition.

These are open call auditions so no appointment is needed. Please choose one of the three audition days to attend and plan to stay for the duration of the evening.

Plot Summary:
A bubbly and seemingly superficial sorority queen is dumped by her boyfriend, prompting her to enroll at Harvard Law School to win him back. There, she challenges stereotypes and uncovers her own potential, demonstrating that intelligence and determination can exist in unexpected places. Along the way, she finds friendship and self-awareness, defying expectations and achieving surprising success. Through her experience at Harvard Law, Elle has transformed herself into a confident and capable advocate. She proves to everyone, including herself, that she is much more than just a pretty face, marking a powerful change in her character.

Show Synopsis

Character Descriptions

Character Breakdown:
Elle Woods (Female, 18-25)
The quintessential Valley Girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more to offer than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality. Must dance, including tap. Range: F#3 to F5

Emmett Forrest (Male, 20-30)
A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly. Must be a good mover. Range: A2 to A4

Paulette (Female, 35-45)
A brash, caring, optimistic hair stylist who is friends with Elle and longs to find a man for herself. Must be a good mover. Range: G3 to A5

Professor Callahan (Male, 40-55)
A pompous, sleazy and manipulative law professor at Harvard who is highly successful, but completely immoral. This role will not be expected to dance. Range: A2 to F#4

Warner Huntington III (Male, 20-25)
A good-looking but shallow and pompous guy who breaks Elle’s heart and heads off to Harvard Law. This role will not be expected to dance. Range: A2 to G#4

Vivienne Kensington (Female, 20-25)
A smart, savvy, and uptight law student and Warner’s fiancée who initially dismisses Elle but grows to be her friend. This role will not be expected to dance. Range: A3 to Ab5

Brooke Wyndham (Female, 25-35)
An exercise video mogul who is also a former sorority girl. She is energetic and charismatic, yet currently on trial for murder. Must dance. Range: A3-G5

Greek Chorus (Female, 20-25)
Margot, Serena, and Pilar: Elle’s best friends and her sorority sisters. They serve as guide to Elle throughout the story and should be strong vocalists and dancers.

Delta Nu Sorority Sisters (Female, 18-25)
Energetic sorority sisters must be strong vocalists and dancers. Will be expected to play multiple roles.

Ensemble (All genders, various ages)
Harvard Law students, fraternity guys, prison inmates, salon patrons/employees, etc. Members of the ensemble will play featured roles with lines and vocal solos like Chutney Wyndham, Elle’s parents, Nikos, Dewey, Kyle, Grand Master Chad, etc. The members of the ensemble should be strong vocalists and movers as they will be utilized in various capacities throughout the show.

Audition Info for Dogs:
Same days and times as actor auditions. Dogs will be seen first and then they may leave.

Character Breakdown:
Bruiser (typically played by a chihuahua)
Must be comfortable being held, picked up, placed in a bag/purse, walked on a leash, and able to follow basic commands. Being able to “speak” on command is a bonus.

Rufus (any breed)
Must be comfortable being held, picked up, walked on a leash, and able to follow basic commands. Off-leash training is a bonus.
