A light-hearted, sophisticated comedy. The story of a journalist who, on his return to America after twenty years absence, finds himself the father of a charming girl 19 years old. In his youth he had been in love with a motion-picture actress whom he had neglected to marry. Being a woman of independent spririt, she had brought up the daughter without notifying the father. To make things complex, the journalist is on the point of marrying another woman, and the actress has one more child by another man.
