Show TimesMay 24 - June 1, 1958About the showPresented through special arrangement with Samuel FrenchDirected by: Dwight Hauser Produced by: Conejo Players “Nude with Pineapple” by Fulton Oursler and Aubrey Kennedy, is loosely based on Oursler’s book “Behold This Dreamer.” Director Dwight Hauser negotiated with Samuel French for permission to use the catchier title, which is based on a painting within the story. The story of a young man, a dreamer, who soars to higher fields than those into which he has been thrown, who has married a prosaic wife, who is one of a painfully prosaic family. They watch him, decide he is crazy and place him in a private sanitarium. It must be admitted that he offers very little objection to this idea. It is while in this institution that many of the screamingly funny situations of the play take place. From start to finish the comedy is filled with brilliant dialogue and plenty of satire and irony. |
