Performance Dates: 

December 6-15, 2019. 8 performances. Friday and Saturday at 8pm/Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm

Audition Requirements: 

Prepare one minute of a standard musical theatre song, and bring an alternative selection as backup. Bring sheet music in your key; an accompanist will be provided. A CD or music device with accompaniment-only track is also acceptable, provided it is edited and cued correctly and saved locally. (Please no YouTube recordings or anything that relies on a wireless signal.) The role of Foley Artist/Announcer has been cast. There will also be readings from the script. Non-equity, NO PAY.

Rehearsal schedule to be determined and will be posted at auditions. In general, most rehearsals are weekday evenings beginning at 7pm. Some weekend rehearsals may be scheduled. Please be prepared to provide any conflicts between October 15 th through December 1 st . No conflict accepted from December 2-5 or during any performance dates.

Plot Summary: 

This is the classic Christmas tale of the power of hope and belief presented as a 1940’s radio play with authentic musical stylings of the 1930’s and 40’s. Favorite stars of the day gather to perform this endearing holiday tale before a live studio audience complete with live sound effects.

Character Breakdown: 

KRIS KRINGLE: Santa Claus. Older man (beard optional). Non-singing

DORIS WALKER: Female late 20’s to late 30’s. Macy’s public relations expert. Alto/mezzo-soprano C4-C5

SUSAN WALKER: Her precocious daughter age 8-10 C4-C5

FRED GAILEY: Male 30’s to 40’s. Lawyer, looking for love and a miracle. Baritone/tenor Bb3-G4

MALE CHARACTER ACTOR: 25 or older. Various. Versatile. Baritone B3-E4

FEMALE CHARACTER ACTOR: 30 or older. Various. Versatile. Soprano C4-E5
